HackJos, which is organizing the first hackathon in Northern Nigeria next month has concluded its one-month pre-Hackathon workshop in the city of Jos, Plateau State.
The workshop which had a total of 76 participants ran from the 26th January to the 27th February focused on teaching the participants coding and hacking using Ruby on Rails and PHP in a very interactive and practical manner.
In other great news, three more companies have joined Hotels.ng and others, as official sponsors of the competition. They are Andela, GigaLayer and Travel Bay.
Andela, will be offering learning resources to participating coders and hackers; Gigalayer, a web hosting firm will be offering the top 3 teams shared web hosting for a year to enhance the development of their apps while Travel Bay, will be offering an android tablet to the member of the winning team with the most contribution. Other sponsors of the competition are NIGNUX, Hotels.ng, Jovago, Fikitout, SchoolMo and MINDcapital.
The hackathon will take place between 23rd and 25th March at the Fajib Hotel Rantiya State Lowcost, Jos, Plateau State. The hackathon will feature workshop participants, and other teams from across the country, showcasing projects that cut across mobile, desktop, web and hardware.
