Messaging service, Whatsapp is now available on desktop, thanks to the web version that launched today for Chrome and Android, meaning users can now send and receive messages from their desktop or laptop computers.

Your phone will, of course need to stay connected to the internet for the web version to work, and all user messages will still reside on the phone, but this development will definitely afford users more flexibility.

You’ll now simply carry conversations from your phone to your computer. It’s a feature already prevalent in Facebook’s other major messaging service, Messenger. Whatsapp details the available features here.

It will not, however, be available to iOS users, due to “Apple platform limitations,” according to the WhatsApp blog.
