Africa’s foremost AI Education and consulting firm, Coven Labs has today announced its program plan for 2023-  AI Submerge 2023. According to the World Economic forum,  Africa has the fastest-growing population in the world, with an annual growth rate of 2.45 percent in 2021, and the continent is already home to 450 million working-age individuals. The pool of African professional developers rose from 690,000 to 716,000 between 2020 and 2021, the equivalent of 3.8 percent.

Despite its promise, tapping into Africa's rich talent ecosystem is deeply nuanced and complex. Compared to the population, competent educational institutions and finishing structures are still largely inadequate on what it takes to equip youth to meet global standards in engineering.

While describing the lab’s continued resolve, Coven Labs founder and co-CEO, Olusola Amusan revealed that the lab has the  framework to expand  the re-skilling of human capital with technology skills such as Artificial Intelligence and Big Data to grow global output from Africa.

“To survive in this era, you must be at the top of the game, changing and trying out new things that suit the ecosystem”, the Lab’s Chief executive continued.

Since 2018, Coven Labs has been partnering with government, universities and private companies  to help Africans acclimatize with necessary skills for information and communication technology. Specifically for students of the 6 universities Coven Labs partner with, “This is of double advantage: apart from making the students well grounded on ICT – most often with one on one classroom interactions with clients and business partners -, it also offers students opportunity to be ready for jobs, since they have been equipped with proper know-how on ICT.”
