Blockchain Nigeria User Group (BNUG), Nigeria’s largest, most vibrant, and most intelligent blockchain/cryptotech community is happy to announce that the Lagos Blockchain & FutureTech Conference/ Exhibition, an immersive experience and growth summit targeting the technologies of the 4IR and their intersection with blockchain technology will be held at the Civic Center, Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island Lagos Nigeria from 29th–30th of September 2022.
This is the 13th edition of the series of annual national conferences being organized by BNUG across Nigeria since 2017.
The conference which will be held over a two-day period is expected to be the most advanced, impactful immersive tech and growth conference granting participants access to Virtual Reality Rooms, GameFi platforms, and interactions within different metaverse worlds.
While the existing metaverse industry has been described as “basic and weird” due to nascent technology and adoption, it’s expected to have a profound impact on gaming, social interaction, education, and arts. The marriage between metaverses and NFTs is inevitable since the metaverse NFTs will power the next growth cycle in digital collectibles on the internet.
We have also seen huge investments by bigtechs like Microsoft, Meta, NVIDIA, HTC, and Apple into VR, AR, and other kinds of XR hardware, pointing to a huge potential in the Virtual worlds. Moreover, over 5 million people currently log in to the metaverse and virtual world creating and participating in the metaverse economy valued at over $825 Billion!
This year’s conference theme is: Immerse and Grow in FutureTech.
Expected to chair this year’s conference is Mr. Stanley Jacobs, former Business Development Manager for MasterCard Africa, VP FintechNGR, and Chief Executive at Stanbic IBTC Financial Services Limited. The Special guest of honor will be Mr. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Hon. Director General National Agency for Technology Development NITDA, while Prof. Pat Utomi, Founder/ CEO, Centre for Values in Leadership (CVL), Founding Senior Faculty, Lagos Business School-Pan African University is expected to deliver the Keynote address.
