vivo, a leading, product-driven, global technology company, ranked among the top five international smartphone manufacturers in Q3 2020, representing a clear year-on-year growth.

The ranking is based on Q3 data for the global smartphone market released by well-known international market research entities, Canalys and the International Data Corporation (IDC).

Numbers from both entities indicated that vivo’s mobile phone shipments ranked among the top five in the world.

Meanwhile, the Canalys data indicated that vivo ranked fifth worldwide, with 31.8 million shipments and a market share of 9.1 percent.

vivo’s success in the global market can be attributed to its persistent efforts to understand and tap into specific consumer behaviors.

In line with its ambitions to continue its growth trajectory, vivo works relentlessly to develop stylish and dynamic products that cater to diverse consumer segments around the world.

The company is highly committed to R&D, enabling it to integrate advanced technologies such as 5G and artificial intelligence into its smartphones – thereby enhancing their appeal to today’s tech-savvy customers.

While 5G has just started large-scale commercialization around the world, the industry’s research and exploration of 6G is already on the cards.

As a digital technology company that seeks to shape new age technologies, vivo’s Communications Research Institute has lately released two whitepapers – 6G Vision, Requirements and Challenges and Digital Life 2030+
