Paga is a proud sponsor and the official payment app of Techpoint SME Clinic 2020 coming up on February 29.

Since 2009, Paga has been working to find more effective ways to make it simple to use and access money.

Despite the advancements in banking, internet & smartphone penetration, and development of digital financial solutions, there are still about 60 million unbanked Nigerians with no way to store, access and grow their money.

To tackle this problem, Paga introduced mobile money and digital financial services to the Nigerian market through its agent network.

In its continuous drive to make accessing money simple for Nigerians, Paga launched a mobile app that enables individuals and businesses to send and receive money for free.

“Our goal at Paga is to help small businesses thrive by empowering them with flexible payment solutions to pay and get paid. Being a part of this year's Techpoint SME Clinic is one of the many ways we are enabling growth among SMEs and merchants within the ecosystem,” said Daniel Oparison, Head, Brand Strategy & Marketing, Paga.

At the SME Clinic, Paga will support the training of over 2000 small businesses on the various ways they can automate their business processes and use technology to scale. At the training, SMEs will learn;

  • How to take your business online
  • Data analysis for small businesses
  • Social media marketing
  • Online customer communication
  • How to sell online, among other tips and hacks you can use to grow your business.

About Paga

Paga was founded in early 2009 by Tayo Oviosu, with a purpose to make it simple for one billion people to access and use money. We are solving two key problems that exist around the world - eliminating the use of cash for transactions and access to financial services.

Paga’s first market is Nigeria, with commercial launch in August 2012. In Nigeria, Paga is a mobile money operator licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Paga offers a range of services such as free money transfers, deposit to bank accounts, buying/sending of airtime, bill payments, remittances, bulk disbursements & collections that are accessible via our online channels (web/app) and on any basic mobile phone via dialling *242#. Paga is also the largest distribution network for financial services in Nigeria through its nationwide agent network - mom and pop stores, pharmacies, grocery stores - where people can get access to financial services.

Paga was founded on the simple belief that digital technology can be leveraged in building an ecosystem that enables people to digitally send and receive money and offer simple financial access for everyone. We aim to accomplish our purpose by launching our services in various emerging markets and partnering with relevant financial institutions to deliver our services.
