The maiden edition of the Professor Ogundipe Innovative Challenge (POIC) held on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at the Jelili Omotola Adebisi Halls, University of Lagos. The event, which witnessed over 2000 participants (Management Team from FCMB and the University, staff, students, captains of industry, friends of the University) showcased innovative ideas by students from different tertiary institutions around the country.
Eleven teams (Blipp, Nupe Project, BSF, Skyline, Zeena, ElabTech, Brickify, Veta, Solution, ProBlack, and LoudMind) took center stage to present their ideas, the problem it addresses and its marketability. After careful assessment by the judges and voting by members of the audience, Team Solution came first (1st) place, while Team Veta and Brickify came second (2nd) and third (3rd) place respectively.
Gracing the event were the Vice-Chancellor, UNILAG, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe; Representative of Governor, Lagos State, Tunbosun Alake; Executive Director, Retail Banking, FCMB, Olu Akanmu; Divisional Head, Transaction Banking, FCMB, Rolayo Akhigbe; and Group Head, Consumer Liability, FCMB, Shamsideen Fashola.
