GreenHouse Capital, a spinoff of the Venture Garden Group, today formally launched GreenHouse Lab accelerator, an all female-focused tech accelerator programme.

This is arguably the first of its kind in Nigeria and as such, Google Developers Launchpad has partnered with GreenHouse to completely power the programme.

They have selected eight startups from a large pool of applicants across Africa to launch the programme.

The startups are Bankly, AMPZ.tv, Versus, Bitmama, Allpro, Nicademia, Social Lender and Xigma Input & Output Centre Technology.

For the next three months, which is the duration of the acceleration, these entrepreneurs will undergo full immersion into GreenHouse Lab support programme.

The ultimate outcome is to build world-class, women-led technology companies by providing the skills, resources and support needed to rapidly grow and scale their companies in emerging African markets.

In a way, this will also be giving women-led startups the opportunity to compete favourably in the tech entrepreneurship market, which particularly is largely dominated by the male entrepreneurs.
