A team of four junior school students from Whitesands School in Lagos Nigeria have won the 2018 Power Pitch of the Smoke- Free World category of the Conrad Foundation Spirit of Innovation Challenge Summit held at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, Florida USA.
The Conrad Challenge is an international and multi-phase innovation competition focused on Aerospace Aviation, Cyber Technology, Security, Energy; Environment, Health Nutrition, and recently, Smoke-Free World.
Code-named Team Neon, the team reached the 4th Round and final stage of the competition. Comprised of Afolabi Williams, Osagumwenro Naaman Ugbo, Olubusiyi Famobiwo, Menashi Mordi and their coach Mr. Matthew Omotoso, Team Neon is the only representative from Nigeria and Africa to reach final stages of the competition.
Their idea is a Virtual Farm project and falls under the Smoke-Free World category at the competition.
