The way people access information about an event and the way organisers keep track of attendees is rapidly evolving, with new engagement and measurement technologies, which efficiently collect data and notify attendees of the event. Tickethub.ng seeks to ease the stress that comes with purchasing event tickets.

Tickethub.ng swung into full operations on January 11, 2018, to connect individuals with events within their locations and allow event organisers sell tickets conveniently. Sokoya Philip (CEO) and Sunday Christian (CTO) are the brains behind the platform.

Asides the sale of tickets, Tickethub.ng also helps organisers promote their events via their social media platforms.

Users can search the directory of events on the platform and register, after which an e-ticket is immediately sent via email with a unique code, which may be required for validation at the event.

Organisers/attendees can either post their events for free or register for free events  on the platform. One of the ways Tickethub.ng generates revenue is by charging a percentage for every sale made via its platform.

According to Philip (CEO), organisers can login on the platform to track their ticket sales, generate reports, export data, create coupon discounts, and check-in users on the day of the event using the platform in-app QRcode scanner. To make attendees check-in easier and faster at events, organisers can add multiple collaborators to check-in users at the event.

Client’s payment card security is paramount to Tickethub.ng as it claims to follow Payment Company Industry-Data Security Standards (PSI-DSS).

With Eventbrite, Ariiyatickets, Afritickets and Naijaticketshop as major players in the market, Tickethub.ng claims to have an interactive website and flexible payment packages as its competitive advantage. In Philip’s words:

Nigerian organisers who host events on Eventbrite, find it really difficult to request payouts for their event tickets mainly because Eventbrite don't pay to Nigerian bank accounts. Tickethub.ng allows users sell tickets in naira, cashout in naira, receive instant support and still have that amazing user experience”

Thoughts

Having data about the number of registered attendees at an event is awesome as it helps organisers plan for future events while creating a memorable event for attendees. Organisers can also use the data to pass information to participants after the programme.

To foster social engagement and feedback, Tickethub.ng can create a platform where organisers can engage and share information with attendees during and after the event.

Tickethub.ng in its own right, has the tendency to gain its own share of the market as it claims to have over 40 event organisers since launch and over 5,000 attendees have registered for an event on the platform.
