On Wednesday this week, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) unveiled the Super Eagles' 2018 World Cup kits designed by Nike -- the official kits sponsor of Nigeria’s national teams.

Arewa Twitter vs Nigerian Twitter

If you are a regular Twitter user, then you probably already know that Arewa Twitter refers to a cultural identity on Twitter focused on issues of interest to the Northern region of Nigeria. If you didn't know, well, you do now.

Anyway, this week, some controversial tweets surfaced from Arewa Twitter and the rest of Nigerian Twitter seemed appalled by the content of these series of tweets.

First, it was the riot at the Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) following the school's Students Union Government (SUG) elections. Some reports claimed that the riot was a result of a Christian winning the elections. While others blamed a student's blasphemous statement about Prophet Mohammed on WhatsApp for the clash.

As a result of the riot in MAUTECH, one student as been reported dead and the school has been closed down indefinitely.
