Safi is an online platform (website and mobile app), launched by Gbenga Odegbami in January 2017, to provide on-demand dry cleaning/laundry services across Lagos.
By downloading the mobile app or visiting the website, users can order laundry services, then schedule a convenient time and location for Safi’s dispatch agents to pick up. Clean clothes are delivered upon completion of service.
Safi offers several flexible packages/plans -- either subscription based or pay-as-you-go -- from which customers could choose. They also offer categorised promos periodically.
With Garmentcare and CleanAce cited as competition, Gbenga Odegbami seems undaunted. In fact, asides touting Safi as the 'Uber of premium dry-cleaning', he claims that their model is founded on quality, timeliness and convenience.
His level of confidence in a business that is just over a year old is astonishing. Could this be because he has Suru Avoseh as his partner? Whatever it is that reinforces Gbenga’s confidence could have also nudged the team to push for expansion as they intend to extend services from Lagos to Abuja and Port Harcourt soon.
The founding duo's self-confidence and motivation are perhaps a crucial requirment for their business' sustenance, especially in the presently austere economy of Nigeria. But the true credibility of a startup lies not in the mouth of the founders, but in the testimonies of the customers.
The Safi app is available for download on Android and iOS.
