Bitcoin Events Pty Ltd recently held its very successful inaugural Bitcoin Africa Conference in Cape Town, South Africa on 16-17 April 2015.

Moving on from there Bitcoin Events Pty Ltd will be hosting its second annual Blockchain & Bitcoin Africa conference in Johannesburg, on the 3rd and 4th March 2016, where it would hope to surpass previous antecedents by featuring industry experts, such as the CEO of CiTi, Ian Merrington; Kathryn Haun, a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice; and co-founder and CEO of BitX, Marcus Swanepoel amongst other Bitcoin enthusiasts who are all interested in what Bitcoin is and how it is disrupting the conventional way of doing business.

The conference will investigate the upcoming challenges of digital currency, the opportunities provided by technology as well as their impact on the current social, economic and political order.

Bitcoin solutions during the course of 2015 drew a lot of attention, and had many start-ups looking towards their technology. The likes of Kenyan Bitcoin startup, Bitsoko, -- which offers digital currency services -- won the US$100,000 grant the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; and BitX, another Bitcoin currency service, raising 4 million US dollars from Nasper. The technology as it would appear, isn’t exclusive to FinTech, with CusoTech looking to curb movie piracy with Bitcoin.
