The Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) is calling on female entrepreneurs in East Africa to apply for the pilot program of the Women's Venture Xchange Africa.

The initiative, which is in partnership with the Case Foundation, the Mara Foundation, and the U.S. Department of State, is a mentorship and exchange program designed for female entrepreneurs based in Africa.

The mission for the program is to assist women-run businesses to expand beyond the borders of their own countries. Four entrepreneurs would be part of the pilot phase of the program, and they will spend up to four weeks in Nairobi, Kenya. The selected entrepreneurs will also have access to new regional markets, research as well as insight on best practices. The initiative is expected to be rolled out to other parts of the continent if the pilot phase in East Africa is successful.

Applications will be judged based on the company’s likelihood of successful regional expansion, the stage of growth of the entrepreneur’s company, the uniqueness of their concept, and their ambitions for their time in Nairobi.
