Crowned Africa’s most intelligent city by Intelligent Community Forum, Nairobi was the only African city to make it to the list of the world’s top 21 ‘intelligent communities’ second year in a row.

The origin of Kenya’s tech movement revolves around the launch of the mobile money service MPESA in 2007, a product used even on the most basic of phones. The service posted an equivalent on $348.67million for the for the financial year 2014/2015 according to Safaricom’s annual report.
