Verizon Is Buying AOL; And By Extension TechCrunch, HuffPo and Engadget

US telecoms giant, Verizon has announced it's purchase of AOL for a price of around $4.4 billion.

After the acquisition is completed, AOL will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Verizon along with its assets: the dial-up subscription business and websites such as the Huffington Post, Techcrunch, Engadget, Makers and AOL.com.

This would make Verizon an internet company - interesting turn of events.
